Requirements

Faraway Country Kennel LLC is dedicated and committed to giving the best care with a safe environment for your dog(s).  All dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the kennel.

Note: **All Dog(s) must be SPAYED/NEUTERED to board at this kennel**

*Meet & Greet*

NEW MEMBERS ONLY If this is your dog(s) first time coming to the kennel, we ask to meet with your dog(s) prior to coming.  Just so there is an introduction with us and your dog(s).

Food

We ask that you bring your own dog food.  It is best that you prepackage food into sandwich bags (one meal per bag), that way your pet is getting exactly what they would receive at home.  It is important to not vary your pet’s diet during their stay, as it can induce stomach upset.  It is very important that you send enough of their food with them, for the duration of their stay.

Toys & Bones

Many dogs enjoy the opportunity to play with toys while they are resting in their pens.

*Please note that we DO NOT allow rawhides*

Vaccinations & Medical

We require that all vaccination records are provided prior to boarding.  No dogs will be allowed into our kennel without current vaccination records.  It is the owner's responsibility to make sure current vaccination records are provided prior to boarding.

Required Vaccinations for all dogs:

-Canine Rabies

-Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

-DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)

-Flea & Tick Preventative*

*All dogs must have current flea protection preventative or one will be provided at the owner's expense.

>The owner to the best of their knowledge states that the dog(s) has not been exposed to Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella within the last 30 days prior to boarding.

>Dog(s) are physically healthy when they are dropped off.

>Dog(s) are free from any communicable condition including internal and external parasites.

>If your dog(s) is taking any medication during a boarding stay it needs to be contained in the original prescription bottle. You are not permitted to mix their medication in their food prior to dropping them off. This creates an unsafe environment for our guests as food can spill, and other dogs may come in contact with it. We need to make sure that the correct dog is taking the medication that is prescribed to them.

>If your pet has been ill with a communicable illness in the last 30 days, we require certification from your veterinarian that they are well, before we can admit or readmit them.

Temperament

We are very hands on with the dogs so they must be comfortable being handled by us.  Owners are always required to report any behavioral concerns at the time of drop off.

What Not To Bring

Food and Water Dishes -We will provide the dishes your dog needs during their stay.  Unless your dog needs to use a slow feed bowl.

Beds -Please do not bring any dog beds. We provide our own cots for your companions comfort.

Large Food Containers -Please do not bring in large food containers or large bags of food, as we do not have the proper space to store them.

Rawhides -We DO NOT allow rawhides as they can be chewed into small pieces and pose a choking hazard.
