Welcome to Faraway Country Kennel LLC.  We are family owned and operated business.  We are a family of 5 that live on just shy of 10 acres in the country.  We have horses, cows, chickens, ducks, and 4 beautiful dogs.  Lacey, Luna, Willow & Waylon are our Golden Retrievers.

My name is Joyce Jahr and my husband's name is Jeff.  I was raised on a dairy farm in the Owatonna area and know what hard work is when it comes to working with animals.  Our kids are active members in 4-H and love working with all different kinds of animals.

We raise American Golden Retrievers here on our farm and I personally know what it takes to care for a member of the family as well as to raise one.  There are all kinds of breeds, and each have their own personality with their own energy level.  So, we decided to turn our dairy barn into a caring and loving dog kennel to give each dog a fresh breath of country air.

We custom built each kennel to fit all different kinds of breeds.  The addition to the barn is 36' X 56' which holds 7 (8x8) kennels and 9 (5x8) kennels so if you have 3 dogs in your family, they can be in the same kennel.  Our barn is heated & air conditioned with a huge, cemented run behind the barn for their exercise area. 

 

Dogs are intelligent and smart.  I just love playing and handling each dog to see their own unique personality.  We want your family member to have the best care possible and vacation while your away on yours.
